I’m hoping we could get a nice HD camcorder this Christmas. Our old one while relatively small still requires a tape whenever we need to use it (yeah it is really old) and I want something that even I could edit. My husband said we rarely use a camcorder so it doesn’t really justify the purchase. We take short videos using our iphones all the time but still use the camcorder for big events like birthday and the holidays. I told him it doesn’t cost much these days, which is true and I’m really hoping I could convince him especially since we’ll have baby #2 by summer next year.

How I wish we could go to and have one of those Disney vacation packages during my little girl’s school vacation. She’s off school for a week this month and I wished I could take her somewhere fun. A family getaway is not going to happen anytime soon, not with me hurling everyday (ugh morning sickness) and well hubby can’t take a few days off work right now. Anyway just because we can’t have a family vacation doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. I will take the little girl to the mall, go to the library and maybe the zoo during her school vacation. I’m sure she’ll love it all the same.

I was never a big fan of baseball, maybe because it’s not a popular sport in my side of the world and I have no patience in catching the game on cable. Of course our TV is always glued on the Disney channel anyway so there goes my chance of watching a game myself. Anyway a friend of mine who moved to California a few years back to be with her husband sent me an email the other night and this afternoon I was able to catch her online so we got the chance to chat for a bit.
Her husband who was born and raised in the US is a big baseball fan, he collects memorabilia and watches a lot of baseball games live. She tells me that he spends a lot of time checking out ticketamerica.com to see game schedules that coincides his off day so he could watch it, sometimes with friends and sometimes with her. She was able to come with him to games in Staples Center, Madison Square Garden. She told me that she now enjoys watching the game herself. It’s always fun to spend time with your husband of course and I guess he’s happy that she tries to understand the game too.
They’re looking forward to watching the games at Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park next season. It’s like a fun road trip for them now, something to do to unwind and leave work behind and just be a couple who happens to love baseball.

I always enjoy myself on date night with my husband. Getting out of the house, just the two of us, is important. Since our daughter was born, we’ve rarely gotten time to ourselves; finding a babysitter is sometimes very difficult.

Lately, my husband’s Mom has become more available so we can go to a movie every couple weeks. So we pack up our daughters things and get ourselves together, set the home alarms and get into the car. After dropping her off at Grandma’s house, we are off to the theater .

We both share an interest in similar movie genres; action, comedy, and thriller. Most of the times, I get to pick the movie; luckily he’ll likely enjoy my choice.

My favorite thing, aside from watching a great movie on the big screen, is getting the popcorn at the theater. I always ask for the bag half-filled so that I can put butter and salt in the middle. It’s awful to get to the middle of the bag in the middle of the movie and have it taste so bland from no seasoning.

Another great part about these dates is spending time with my husband sans child. I love my daughter more than the world but we need our time too.

We try our best to live within our means and we’re doing quite well with this but I can’t help but think of how useful cash advance payday loan would be for us in the event that we need more cash for unforeseen expenses. I’m just thankful that clean restrooms here and sometimes even kiddie restrooms too. My little girl knows proper hygiene and she never forget that she needs to wash her hands after she went to the potty, at home and even when we’re out. I just think it’s good to train them while they’re young so they get use to the idea. I pretty much let her do it herself if she can reach the sink (some malls have lower sinks for little ones in their restrooms) and only lend a hand when she needed it. I want her to be independent if I can help it so if I know it’s safe then I let her do things on her own. Of course she often tells me “I can do it myself” so I think we both like the idea.

I’m making a conscious effort to eat healthy and prepare healthy meals for me and my family. I know I’m taking baby steps and these little changes I’m doing doesn’t seem to count for anything but in the long run these will pay off. I wanted for so long to somehow incorporate healthy food choices in our lifestyle but let’s face it this is easier said than done. I just scared everytime I hear someone pass away because of illness and I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to keep my family healthy.

Just the other day I read an article about this book written by Paul Kraus, I found a lot of information about Mesothelioma and it made me think about the choices we make everyday that ultimately affect our health and our families as well. I admire he author’s courage for writing this book, to share how he struggled and survived Mesothelioma Cancer.

I usually read fiction books so this is not something I would normally choose but I got curious. I know a lot of people are suffering from cancer and reading about someone surviving Mesothelioma caught my eye. I know others who are struggling with Mesothelioma and fighting this disease will find this book uplifting, and inspirational.

It looks like me and the little girl will be going to the expo this coming Friday. Robinsons expo sale is something I look forward to simply because the little girl’s birthday is in two months and I’m looking for items for the goodie bags for the kiddos. What can I say I love going to trade shows and expos, sometimes to shop but sometimes it is just to window shop and admire all the pop up displays the exhibitors have. It’s fun especially if you go a weekday, there’s less people so you get to really look around and not have to squeeze yourself in among the crowd. There’s usually a lot of these trade show pop up when I go to expo, or course it is also used in other events like job fairs because you can practically set it up anywhere and they come in different shapes and sizes. Some are really neat and fun that my little girl sometimes asks me to take a picture of her beside one display.

I guess that’s the whole point of having pop up trade show displays, it makes people want to look at what an exhibitor has to offer. Of course it helps that custom pop ups are available with back lighting and are easy to set up and transport, it catches potential customers eyes thus allowing exhibitors to sell their products. It is really an easy to display graphics.
I’m looking forward to another fun experience at the expo.
