Just My Scrap

Our wedding anniversary is so close to Christmas that it is difficult to make it extra special. Since Christmas is one of the busiest holidays I’m one of those people who finds herself with a lot of things to do as the holiday draws near. The last thing on my mind is to wonder if I’m going to get flowers for our anniversary so it really doesn’t bother me if I don’t get one. What we usually do is celebrate after Christmas that way I’m more relaxed and could actually enjoy the moment. It is better because I can focus on being grateful for our marriage, for having a wonderful husband and having a great family to love and cherish.

I like to think I’m a creative person, I love doing all the decorations for my kids’ birthday parties myself and it makes me happy seeing how everything comes together. I’ve also made bracelets and earrings and needlepoint before. Now I’m thinking I should try my hand at sewing, I saw some beautiful robert allen fabric the other day and thought I could make cute matching dresses for my girls if I knew how to sew. This is a big deal though, I’d have to buy a sewing machine for me to start learning and that will cost at least a hundred bucks. I have to be sure I’m serious about this first before I start making all the purchases necessary.

We are going to Australia in a few months, we will have two kids in tow and one of them is a one year old which means we will lug around lots of baby supplies with us. This is why I will be getting a new stroller to use for our trip. We’re still using my eldest daughter’s old umbrella stroller and while it is still in great shape I prefer we get a light weight stroller that is compact and perfect for traveling. For this purpose baby jogging stroller is not going to be on our list of options. Something that will be a breeze to fold and unfold and can fit the trunk of a small car is going to be my choice. I’m still browsing online for options, not in a hurry to make a decision on this one.

My mom is always busy with her little garden back home. She is always adding plants and flowers as well as rearranging plastic Adirondack chairs she got last year. She’s happy when her flowers bloom, I love seeing all the wonderful blooms myself. I don’t have a green thumb however, I can’t grow anything like she does. We have different hobbies I guess, she loves gardening and I love scrapbooking and photography so clearly I’m not one to spend time pruning roses. I’m happy though that she found a hobby that she loves, I know it gives her a sense of fulfillment seeing the beautiful blooms in her garden.

We’re all excited for our family vacation this year. Once my daughter’s school vacation starts we’re off to the land down under for three whole weeks! I’m looking forward to exploring the city, this will be our first time to travel as a family of four so I’m excited and a little bit scared at the same time. My daughter can’t wait to see lots of all steel buildings at the harbor and touching a koala. We will spending time with my sister in law and her family too, this will be the first time for my kids to meet two their cousins. My mother in law can’t wait to see my kids again, she was here for a few months last year when I gave birth to my youngest and I’m sure she will be amazed to see just how much they’ve grown. This will be a fun family vacation that’s for sure.

I spent a lot of time this morning browsing online for more party ideas and reading several articles. It’s nice to wake up before everyone else and just have some quiet time while drinking my morning coffee. I like having some time for myself before the chaos starts in our house, it’s the right way to start my day and it puts me in a good mood. I read a couple of news articles today and also lipo 6 black ultra concentrate reviews as well as celebrity gossip. I know I could have just read some books on my iPad but there are days when I just want to do something else.
